1The DH&R Technology Affinity Team: Helping You with Meetings, Conferences & Incentive Trips
It was a brisk and sunny January day in New Jersey at Hamilton Park Conference Center. (Did I say “brisk?” I meant fuh-reeeeezing!) The 18 of us gathered for our Tech Affinity Team breakout. Now, to be honest, I had been to last year’s and I was, well, not inspired.
Now, no offense to the past leaders. But this year, something different was in the air and it smelled a lot like confidence. Our new leader, Lindsey Grinage Youngren, came right out of the box and asked, “What do you want from this team?” I was shocked! You mean we’re not going to spend three hours talking about administrative chores? (Like writing this blog, ironically enough.) My interest peaked, my ears perked, and my attention was focused.
The next two and a half hours were spent discussing how our team was an incredible tool, powered by a wealth of talent, experience and knowledge. We discussed communication and sharing information with each other. Wow, what a concept! “BRING THE WALLS DOWN!” we exclaimed. And we did. The walls crumbled, meaningful ideas emerged, love and respect was oozing from the Somerset Conference Room. We strategized as professionals, came together as a group, bonded as colleagues and a true TEAM was born.
The Outcome: Commitment to open communication within the team, will lead to a better understanding of our client’s needs. If as a company we understand what is important to each client and the success of their meetings, that will lead to brand loyalty. We agree that the greatest benefit to having clients shop within the DH&R family is confidence in our product, ease of booking, and a shared expertise and level of customer service regardless of which property you're at. Brilliant!
