Real San Diego Weddings: Felicia + Brian

Brian and Felicia were looking for a destination wedding venue that would remind them of the tropical island where Brian first popped the question. Like many modern couples, they also wanted their wedding to double as both a celebration and vacation for their guests. Their search for a unique San Diego wedding venue brought them straight to Paradise Point's 44 acre island, and I'm so glad it did! Their wedding day was as beautiful and fun as the love they share, and we were honored to help this couple start their journey together.

As told by Felicia Nassif

How We Met:
We met  April 4, 2009, what seemed to be just another spring day, while out with our friends in Santa Barbara.  Brian was visiting some friends Lee, Kate and Kelly, and planned to meet up with them that evening.  Those same friends encouraged me to go out with them that night to downtown Santa Barbara.  Brian was described to me as someone I had to meet and that I would laugh with him until my side hurt. The night led to dancing and playful conversations and me putting my number in his phone. I knew I had to see him again. A simple text expressing my interest in Brian, led to many phone calls, and to a yearlong courtship, long distance relationship. We both believe that timing is everything, and that fate brought us together.

Why Paradise Point For Our San Diego Wedding:
We chose Paradise Point because it reminded us of where we got engaged, Kauai.  It has a romantic island atmosphere that we wanted our guests to experience.  The majority of our wedding guests came from out of town and we wanted them to feel like they were on a island, that they really were on a vacation and not just attending a wedding.  It created a San Diego destination wedding feel without us having to leave home.  It was also important to us that we can visit the island whenever we feel, whether it is for a nostalgic run through the grounds, or for an anniversary dinner or drinks with friends.  It also didn't hurt that all the staff greet us with a warm smile and a 'how may we help you?' whenever we visit there.  The catering staff, especially our catering manager Karen Cipolla, treated us with kindness, respect and the utmost importance. We knew our wedding day would be flawless.

Our San Diego Wedding Day...In A Nutshell:
Our wedding day was the most amazing day of our lives.  We had a vision of how we saw the day flowing, what we dreamed it would be... it far exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing! We were treated like true VIPs and we really felt like every staff member and every vendor handled our day as if it was the most important day in their lives in their lives as well.  It was supposed to rain, and it rained around 5 am and then the clouds opened up.  It was an absolutely beautiful day and we couldn't ask for a more perfect San Diego wedding.
