1Explore Ancient Remnants and Create your own National Treasure Adventure at Tarrytown House Estate
As you enter the Grand Foyer at the Tarrytown House, you are immediately captured by the marble centerpiece designed with the Latin words, Placitum-Integritas-Navitas-MDCCCXL.
The meaning of these words best describe the Estate and are relative to all the different types of customers that we have, whether group, business or leisure guests. The Latin interpretation was chosen as it is the root language of English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. It is respectful to all of the different international guests we have who come to us from a variety of different lands and cultures.
PLACITUM – Latin for “An ancient place of assembly or court where important decisions and commitments are made.” “This truly applies to who and what we are.”
INTEGRITAS - Latin for “Purity of Heart and Mind” root word for Integrity. “Not only do we strive for this as a team but our corporate clients do as well.”
NAVITAS - Latin for “Spirit and Energy of Life, Quest for Betterment and for Doing.” “A respectful reference for all our guests who come here to learn and laugh and share and hopefully leave with a better sense of purpose and self.”
MDCCCXL - Roman Numerals for 1840 the Age of our Oldest Mansion and Beginning of the Estate.
Imagine engaging your group in a fun, unique way by creating their own National Treasure Hunt using ancient historical clues throughout the resort. The Tarrytown House Estate & Conference Center has been the chosen venue for our clients in part due to the charm, uniqueness and convenient location but also because of the service and care that our team has delivered for over 48 years!
Our Estate today has 212 guest rooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting space. We look forward to seeing you soon!
