Estancia La Jolla is Awarded a 3 Green Eco-Leaf Rating

You travel for business because it’s how you make your living.  You travel for leisure because it’s how you reward yourself for working hard.  Being the environmentally-conscious traveler that you are, you want to lessen your environmental footprint while taking these trips.  Now you can!  You can travel to a luxury resort, a metropolitan hotel or even a family run bed and breakfast and choose your lodging based on how environmentally friendly the property is.  The website www.istaygreen.org lets you easily search for green hotels within your desired destination.   Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa was recently awarded a 3 Green Eco-Leaf Rating from iStayGreen.

Estancia La Jolla received the 3 Green Eco-Leaf Rating by completing a 70 point comprehensive eco-audit of their property’s green initiatives.  The environmentally friendly measures which are reviewed in the audit include energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, green cleaning, purchasing habits, and several others.  As part of the Destination Hotels & Resorts collection of properties, Estancia La Jolla has completed dozens of eco-friendly measures for the company’s green program, called Destination Earth.  Some of the hotel’s goals for 2010 include guestroom recycling, the elimination of plastic water bottles and converting the Learning Center into a sustainable building using solar power.
